When I took my test, I was sure I had all the answers. I did all my studying. I knew exactly what to do when I was on the testing table. But at the end of the day, there were times when I felt pretty confident I had the answers right and when I felt like I didn’t know enough to get a certain question right.
I did everything in my power to make sure that my test results would be at least a little bit better than they were. I focused so much on the exam that I didn’t think about any of the “feelings” of the exam.
Then the day came where I felt pretty good about myself. I felt like I was prepared and that I was ready to take my NCLEX exam. Then the real test came. It was the second time I had taken the exam and I had made a mistake on the first one.
My test results were on hold during this time. I felt like I would never find out if I really was ready to take the exam. I was really going to embarrass myself on the exam. I really was just going to die.
The feeling of anticipation after taking the NCLEX exam is wonderful but there is a point where you have to know that it is time to take your test results off of hold. You have to understand that this could change.
So here is where I realized I had to take a step back and get a little bit better prepared. I could not just focus on the thought of how bad I felt about myself. I needed to look at it objectively and think about the important things.
That first step, and the next two, were to take a step back and recognize that it is time to take a look at the things that I was thinking about as I was taking the test. I wanted to get the key points of what I wanted to focus on. I then went into detail about why I was taking the exam and what I wanted to do when I did.
Next, I needed to take a step back and focus on the things that I was going to focus on during the actual test. That is the time when I began to study for the test. After I was prepared with that information, then I made sure I practiced my test preparation exercises. The last step was to review and check all of the questions that I was going to get on the test.
I knew it was time to take a deep breath and focus on what I needed to focus on. I knew that it was time to focus on the test, not on my feelings or the anxiety I felt because of it. I also knew that I was still going to take the exam, so I was going to take it one question at a time and see what I learned.
After my NCLEX test, I got better at taking my tests and I took them one question at a time. This is the perfect approach to take if you want to get better at taking and passing your NCLEX test. Keep these NCLEX tips in mind when you take your next exam and you will be well on your way to becoming a well rounded test taker.
Taking your NCLEX test should be like taking your own personal exam and not a test that are taking a toll on your emotions. You want to focus on the important things and then move on from there. Just do not focus on the emotion that is causing the test to be taken more seriously than it should be.
